Private members’ clubs in London have moved with the times and are no longer the stuffy, oak-panelled drinking dens of years gone by. Instead they have become hotbeds of entrepreneurialism, networking, fine dining and clubbing. Our specialists have chosen their favourites, many of which offer our members exclusive benefits including fast-track membership, waived joining fees and non-member restaurant access.
12 Hay Hill, Mayfair
Royal wedding planner Simon Robinson has thrown out the rule book and mixed business with pleasure at this refined work space in the heart of Mayfair. For a monthly fee, members can hire a single desk space or a six-desk office and have access to a full range of luxury services, including complimentary IT support and a restaurant overseen by Michelin-starred Shaun Rankin.
On the ground floor, it has all the trappings of a private members’ club, with a fully equipped gym, bar, lounge and brasserie. Upstairs, the luxury work spaces are a great place for working alongside like-minded individuals and a regular programme of events open up excellent networking opportunities.
We have a great relationship with the club and you will not pay the £500 joining fee when arranging membership through us – contact us to discuss the options. We can also secure table reservations in the restaurant for non-members.
28 Berkeley Square, Mayfair
This venue has been at the centre of Mayfair’s social life for the past 35 years. The Grade II-listed building was built in 1823 and was once the private residence of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. On the lower ground level is the nightclub, with resident DJs playing from Wednesday to Saturday. The first-floor restaurant is at the very heart of the building, while the ground-floor bar hosts live music every evening from Tuesday to Saturday.
Very few non-members can secure access to the bar and restaurant but we can get you in – contact us to make a reservation.
20 Portman Square, Marylebone
This has long been one of the most desirable private members’ clubs in London. Set in three rows of Georgian houses, this elegant venue will suit everybody’s needs, with a quiet landscaped garden, chic 18th-century drawing rooms, four bars and a restaurant. It’s also renowned for throwing a good party – always managing to find the perfect balance between sophistication and fun. Night owls can take to the dancefloor in the stylish nightclub, Vaults, which is open until 5am at weekends.
We can secure tables in the restaurant and bar even if you’re not a member – contact us to arrange your night out.
61-63 Shaftesbury Avenue, Soho
Thousands of people walk past the unmarked door in Theatreland each day, unaware that one of London’s most lively private members’ clubs lies behind it. In a move away from the more traditional clubs, this is squarely aimed at a young and creative crowd with three bars, a cinema, a spacious rooftop terrace and a restaurant which is open from breakfast to dinner. There is also a comprehensive list of regular events that range from nutrition talks to cabaret nights available to members.
Contact us to discuss membership, which begins at just £400 per year, or to book a table in the restaurant – we can secure reservations for you and up to four guests.
4-5 Devonshire Square, the City
The founder of this impressive club near Liverpool Street knows what he’s doing when it comes to creating the perfect members’ club, having been a founding director of Home House, managing director of The Arts Club and chairman of L’Escargot. So it goes without saying that this is one of the best-run clubs with some of the most impressive facilities. There’s a cocktail bar, lounge, excellent restaurant, gym with personal trainers, treatment rooms, salon and nail bar – it also doubles as a boutique hotel, with 68 beautiful rooms that would be ideal to impress visiting clients.
The waiting list is long but we can arrange fast-track ‘founders status’, which means you will not pay the joining fee of £2,400. Contact us to discuss the details.
