From a very young age I have been involved with theatre. Starting as an actor, I quickly realised a life of rejection wasn’t for me, and decided my skills could be far better used behind the scenes. I completed a theatre degree at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2009.
I wanted to find a job that could fit in with my commitments, and lifestyle management is that perfect role. I now work four days a week for lifestyle concierge and spend two days working towards producing a new musical, so I get the best of both worlds.
Part of my job as one of the theatre experts at lifestyle concierge is running the Theatre Club. I get to visit companies and theatres to discuss how they can help support our members’ needs. I love that members will call and say: ‘James, what should I see this weekend?’ I can share my knowledge and expertise, and it’s great to have a conversation with them and exchange opinions about our favourite shows. I love hearing back from members to tell me what they thought of a show, good or bad, but especially when they say they had a really good time.
